Julie Fritz, PT, PhD, ATC, recipient of a 2002 Foundation research grant, was awarded a 2-year R21 grant from the NIH's National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) in May 2008. The award of $405,200 is in support of her project titled "Biomechanical and Neurophysiological Effects of Spinal Manipulative Therapy."
Fritz is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Utah.
Lee Dibble, PT, PhD, ATC, recipient of the 2004 Foundation geriatric research grant, was awarded a 3-year R15 grant in August 2007 from NIH's National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research. The $250,000 award is in support of his study, "Resistance Training and Dopamine Replacement Effects on Hypokinesia in Parkinson Disease." This study is based on the findings of his Foundation-funded project, "Eccentric Exercise Effects on Sarcopenia, Function, and Quality of Life in Persons with Parkinson's Disease."
Dibble is Research Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Utah.
Paul LaStayo, PT, PhD, recipient of a 1999 Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) II scholarship and a 2000 New Investigator Training Fellowship Initiative (NIFTI) fellowship, was recently awarded a 5-year R01 grant from NIH's National Institute on Aging. The award of $1,316,350 is in support of his project, "Reducing Falls with RENEW in Older Individuals Who Have Fallen."
LaStayo is Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Adjunct Associate Professor in Exercise and Sport Science and Orthopedics at the University of Utah.

Nancy White received the Charles M Magistro Distinguished Service Award, the Foundation's highest award, for her service as a past Foundation president, Board Trustee, and Chair of the Foundation's first major gifts campaign: "Destination: Research Excellence." Working with a national committee of volunteers, White encouraged participation from all sectors of the profession, raising an estimated $4 million for physical therapy research.
Larry Pan, Program Director of Physical Therapy at Marquette University, received the Spirit of Philanthropy Award not only for his outstanding contribution to the Foundation and its mission, but also for his dedication to the physical therapy profession. For the past 20 years, Pan has served as the national adviser to the student-run Marquette Challenge. The Challenge has built awareness of the Foundation and the importance of physical therapy research while raising more than $1.3 million.

Tri W-G Inc has been a supporter of the Foundation for 2 decades. Duane Fast, Vice-President of Tri W-G, has long been a proponent of research and the Foundation as a means of growing and strengthening the profession and its related industries. He served on the Foundation Board as a Trustee for 11 years.
