| Linda Fetters, PT, PhD, Appointed to Foundation's Scientific Review Committee |

Fetters is an internationally known scholar and educator in development, pediatric rehabilitation, and evidence-based practice. She received a Found-ation doctoral student support grant in 1981 and Foundation funding in 1990 in support of her study, "The Effects of Physical Therapy Treatment on Spastic Cerebral Palsy." She has received research awards from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Section on Pediatrics and the Massachusetts chapter of APTA. She also has received a Mary E Switzer Research Fellowship from the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research (NIDRR) of the US Department of Education.
Fetters was a co-investigator on a National Institute of Health (NIH)/National Institute on Drug Abuse grant to study the neuromotor functioning of infants who were exposed to cocaine and as a co-investigator on a NIH/National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) research grant to study the motor development of infants with white matter disease who were born prematurely. She has published extensively and serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for several professional journals.

In addition to describing the effects of these physical therapy intervention protocols on improvement of walking ability in individuals who have had stroke, the session also will include discussion of the clinical implications of the multisite randomized clinical trial. The session is cosponsored by the Neurology Section and the Foundation for Physical Therapy.

Have Fun at CSM While Raising Funds for Research
Plan to attend 2 fun-filled events at the Combined Sections Meeting, February 14-18, 2007, in Boston. You can unwind or wind up with colleagues while raising funds to support the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
The Sports Physical Therapy Section welcomes you to the American Spirit Gala, from 8:00 PM to midnight, Thursday, February 15, at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom. Bring your Stars and Stripes, USA-themed regalia and dancing shoes. The gala will feature live music by Boston's own Shine Band, raffles, contests and games, and the ever-popular silent auction. Admission is $20 ($10 for students, if registered in advance). Register through APTA's online registration or at the Section's registration table.
The Home Health Section will help you wake up early the next morning, 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Friday, February 16, with their second annual Coffee Tasting Open House in the Marriott Copley Place. Learn to be a discriminating coffee drinker from a Starbuck's coffee master. Meet Foundation-funding recipients, Trustees, and other physical therapy luminaries. And receive a handsome travel mug for your cup to go. Admission is $20 ($10 for students).

Session to Offer Advice on Applying for Foundation Funding
The Foundation will offer a unique opportunity for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants who are considering applying for Foundation scholarships, fellowships, and grants.
Plan to attend "Foundation Funding for Post Professional Doctoral Study: Options and Guidelines" on Friday, February 16, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. The program will include roundtable discussion groups for Foundation funding programs: Florence P Kendall Doctoral Scholarships, Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) I & II, New Investigator Fellowship Training Initiative (NIFTI), and Research Grants. Each discussion group will be led by a current or former member of the Scientific Review Committee (SRC).
