To the Editor:
I write to commend Dr Rothstein on his precise analysis of the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in our current clinical environment. In his April article entitled "Education at the Crossroads: For Today's Practice, the DPT," he highlighted the need to rigorously prepare contemporary graduates to function in a complex, dynamic health care environment. His subsequent commentary in May, "Education at the Crossroads: Which Paths for the DPT?" skillfully addressed points of contingency regarding, and defined a place for, the DPT degree in its intended environment—clinical practice.
Reading Dr Rothstein's first analysis prompted me to recognize the benefits I have enjoyed as a DPT student....
