Like the Shoemaker's Elves ...
Jules M Rothstein, PhD, PT, FAPTA, Editor
This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
With awe and wonder, the shoemaker in the fairy tale would awaken in the morning to find his work completed. The magical efforts of the nocturnal elves allowed the kindly old gent to complete his work. Their quiet work has been on my mind as I contemplate how this journal gets put together and how many things in our lives just seem to get taken care of by people who labor in the shadows, both figuratively and literally. There are those wonderful folks who manage to pick up after physical therapists, or who somehow know how to schedule the unschedulable, order the unobtainable, or make the phone call that seems to set the Earth back on its axis.
Anyone who is not blessed by the presence of someone or some people who function like the shoemaker's elves is missing a lot....
