APTA Policy

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

To the Editor:

Today, I paid more attention than usual to the introductory pages of Physical Therapy. On the page identifying editorial office staff and Editorial Board members, a listing of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Board of Directors is included. I am puzzled by the inclusion of the APTA Board of Directors in the monthly printing of the Journal.

The Board of Directors is a political body, and as such would not seem to be directly aligned with publication of the profession's scientific journal. Confusion arises when introducing the Journal with both the political body and the scientific review staff. The message conveyed is that the Board of Directors can influence the scientific publications of the Journal.
