Tonight, I wish to speak to you about posture. Not posture in the context that we as physical therapists think of it. Instead, I would like to discuss how we as individuals mentally posture ourselves, how we collectively frame the posture of the Association in our efforts to express our mission and purpose to the public, and how the public perceives us and our Association.

Certainly, we and our Association face some pressing issues. Sound strategies must be developed or refined to tackle each of these. The House, the Board, the components, and our appointed groups continue to grapple with the best approaches.

My chosen theme on posture will reflect not the intricacies of our specific strategies, but an overall stance that should influence all that we do. To illustrate how we should mold this stance, let me use examples of two major items from our agenda....
